Jason Leong, Clinical Psychologist
MPsych (Clinical), BSc (Hon), BA, BComm
(In-person, video and telephone telehealth appointments offered)

Being a clinical psychologist is a considered career for Jason Leong. He graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts and ended up working in market research consulting for five years, realising in the process that he really wanted to help people with their life issues instead.

Jason Leong completed 6 years of University study to become a Psychologist in 2017 and a further 2 years of intensive supervision required to become a Clinical Psychologist in 2020. He has considerable expertise working with people experiencing life adjustment problems, particularly in their role as a Carer, as well as common issues such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma and grief.
With a warm, empathetic and authentic approach, Jason works extensively using a specialist and evidence based CBT model called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and incorporates principles from attachment theory. Jason has completed Level 1 and 2 training in the Gottman Method, an evidence-based approach to couples counselling that helps couples connect to a more meaningful relationship and provides practical strategies for improvement.

He enjoys and has experience working with people across the lifespan, from adolescents through to older adults, as well as people from diverse cultural backgrounds and the LGBTI+ community. In his free time, Jason has a variety of interests, including discovering new places through travel, connecting with family and friends over a meal, getting his heart rate up and improving his skills in CrossFit and developing his flexibility and practising some mindfulness through Iyengar yoga. Jason welcomes referrals of people aged 13 and above.
